They could just be Braxton Hicks (false) contractions, but those are usually just uncomfortable. Even though your doctor said (over the phone) to relax and not worry, you should INSIST on being seen by him/her just to be on the safe side. It's never a good thing when you have "intense pain" during pregnancy (unless it is during labor...that's a "good pain"). You definitely should be seen by your doctor since the pain does not seem to be getting any better. If the doctor would deny your request and you are still very concerned, you could "fib" and say that you are spotting...they would definitely see you then and you could get some peace of mind. Or just go directly to the emergency room. I had pretty bad pain in my abdomen during my pregnancies, but my OBGYN said that it was because of my uterus and abdominal muscles stretching to accommodate the baby. Either way, you should be seen by a doctor ASAP just to be on the safe side.
