Been in this situation, if you are pregnant your tendons that hold the uterus may be stretching due to a heavier uterus. I did have pains like you described. As far as the spotting I'm not sure. I did use HPT (4X) and they always worked for me. Some hospitals have a free clinic where they do blood test also. Our local family planning does this also. Hope this helps.
