Garnet is one of the harder stones to find... garnet appears in what are known as wild mines, in other words: the little rock outcrops that show up everywhere but are not attached to an actual mine. Look for the wild mines that have tin, and you will find garnet. If you are near Dartmoor Quarry, look around the hills south of the quarry. If there is no stone directly there look around the surrounding area as far as the nearest city in any direction, or just wait. Each wild mine lasts for five minutes for play and come back after about ten minutes. Hope this helps.
