Locked iPhone?

I bought a new iPhone (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia)and after updating the software through iTunes it got locked with a message PLEASE INSERT AN UNLOCKED SIM CARD. The same thing happened after inserting an new and unlocked SIM card.

ii had that problem take it to the shop they will sort itout for you

I was in your predicament similarly!
