iPhone Installer icon disappeared from the screen, What can I do?

I have a sofware Unlocked Iphone 1.1.4 I used the Installer to download some games and apps and now the Installer icon is not on the screen and I cant seem to get to it, I tried holding down on each icon for a couple sec until they jiggle but nothing happened i tried turning it and scrolling left right up down but nothing. How could I upgrade firmware in the future. Thank you very much for your help.
