First off, I have the dare and it froze on me 2 times in one night while trying to get into the camera, then into the video all within a couple of days of owning it. Upon returning to a local VZW store (not some kiosk in the mall) I found out that there had already been a firmware update issued, which shocked me since the phone had just come out like 3 months prior and I assumed it would have the most recent software on it. Nope mine had version 3 & they now had a version 5, so I waited reluctantly for about 30 minutes while they updated my phone (I actually expected to just return it & pick out something else that night) Since I've gotten it back I have had No problems with the freezing of the screen & after hours upon hours of research on reviews for other phones (mainly the Samsung Alias) there is no other phone I've seen get such great & consistent reviews as the Dare has. Now if you want the Blackberry I hope you are prepared to shell out extra money for the required data plan that you have to have with it (I believe they have diff ones to choose from) otherwise the Dare does not require a data plan just a normal nationwide plan. Take that into your consideration. Good luck & check to see if you need the update, chances are you do & that could be the answer that fixes your current problems since that's what the updates do, work out the bugs...
