How do I find out where my houses telecom room is?

I want to set up a wired network in my house for use with my non-Wi-Fi laptop. Someone told me to do something in my telecom room but I dont know how to find it.

lol, around here houses dont have telecom rooms, maybe a few HUGE houses. alot of the bigger houses have a wiring panel in the garange or somethin but these are usually newer homes only.the phone lines could be home run outside to the telco NID or they could be looped, meaning one line comes in to a jack, makes the outlet hot, then continues on to the other jacks etc

There isnt one if tyou have a router you could use the ethernet connection from that. There arent telecom rooms that is stupid!
