Unlock HTC Touch Diamond?

If i buy a HTC Touch Diamond with a airtel network (india) , can i insert my vodafone sim card or i will have to unlock it? if unlock then how to unlock it for free? because i wanna still use vodafone instead of airtel but HTC Touch Diamond is only available on airtel PLEASE HELP!!!!AND I DONT WANNA USE CREDIT CARD OR SHOP ONLINE sry for caps
