How do I access the data on the memory card for HTC S710?

I have some videos (tv programmes and other stuff) on my 2 GIG micro SD memory card for my new HTC S710, but everytime I try to play them I get the same warning message saying " no application associated with this file, select application and open within the application" so of course I select windows media player but there is NO option for playing anything from storage card....help! anyone...........please
