How do you master reset or soft reset a Kyocera Lingo?

its frozen and has an hour glass going around how can i reset the phone without removing that battery... or if thats the only option how do i take out the screw in the back? the back cover wont come out or am i just not doing i righ?

if you turn the screw either verticle or horizontal, I'm not sure which way but then the entire back casing will pop off, good luck it took me and about 4 co-workers to finally figure it out.
