Default What does Insert SIM on a Motorola phone?

I recenttly just purchased a phone on Ebay. I recieved it today and as soon as i turned the phone on it said Insert SIM it would not let me access anything in the phone. As soon as i pressed any buttin it said emergency call only. PLease Help! its a gift for a birthday coming up soon!

you need a SIM card, every phone has one...look at the site i listed in the source, it has everything there.

Every phone has a SIM card that stores the users information (like telephone number, etc.)...so, if you don't have a contract with a phone company to use the phone, then you wouldn't have a SIM card and won't be able to use it.

The sim card is the like network card with all the phones info.Cingular ones cost over 25 dollarsShould have read the info on ebayYou will need to acquire a sim car or the phojne has no use

Not ALL phones require a SIM card, it is dependent on the network. Hopefully the person you are giving the phone to does not have Verizon service, I believe they are the only ones still doing CDMA, which doesn't use SIM cards. Otherwise, if this person already has phone service, they should have a SIM card that they can just move into the new phone. There may be issues if the phone is not "unlocked" though. Most phones in the US are tied to a specific carrier, for example Cingular, so that you can only use the phone with a Cingular SIM card. You may be able to find ways to unlock the phone if necessary.
