Xbox 360 with a Motorola SURFboard SB5101 Modem?

okay im getting an xbox 360 for christmas and i was wondering can you get live with just a modem.like unplug it from the computer and plug it 2 the 360.so it will be xbox 360modem

Yes, that will work fine. But, remember that you cannot use the Internet on that computer while the Xbox is plugged in (of course). So if you need to use both at same time, or let someone else use the PC online while you play on the Xbox, you should consider getting a router, maybe a Linksys, so they can both work together at the same time. Routers are fairly cheap these days for a basic one (no WiFi), so that could be an option as well.
