yes, but its not the modem that will make it fast, its the bandwith. Try to get at least 1.5G of it

You have to pay for the internet, not just the modem.

No.You have to have dsl or cable to get faster internet.The connection is sent threw your phone line then its converted Via router/modem.

No it won't, because everyone else would do that to! : )Your Internet Service Provider will only allow your phone line to go to a certain speed while connected to the internet, Usually with dial-up this is around 56Kbps. You would need to sign up to a broadband provider, then buy the modem unless they give you one. I had dial-up and I am paying less than i was with Dial-up because my monthly fee was $22.50 plus 30c for every call I make to the internet, I went on twice a day, do that for thirty days, that is another $18 on top of your internet bill, Plus any excess usage.
