You need the software drivers.

Try and use a different USB port on your computer. Sometimes for reasons unknown they just stop working or in weird cases will work for some devices and not others. I have two ports on the front of my PC. If I plug in my external HD it doesn't recognize it, but if I plug it in to a slot on the back it works just fine. Now if I plug in my Digital Camera to the same port the external HD didn't work in, it works with no problems. If that doesn't work, make sure none of the drivers got corrupted for the device. Sometimes if you remove the device while it is in the middle of a process it can mess up the drivers and cause it to not function properly. If all else fails call Tech Support and see if there is a possible issue with the phone and see if they can send a Hot Fix signal to correct the problem.Hope that helps!
