how to unlock motorola razor cell phone?

my brother gave me his old phone and I need to switch to the phone companies so I tried to guess the code which then gave me a contact operator message, so now what can I do to unlock it?

the phone is att and i need to change it to tmobil

That is not a big problem but it depends on what kind of phone it is. If it has a sim card (ATT or T-Mobile) it is easy. If not then it is more difficult. Go to cell-unlock.com and they will be able to help you with it. There is a 25 dollar charge but it is worth it. If it is a Sprint Verizon phone just get a different one it is easier. Hope this helps.
