How good is Sprint PCS in NH? NY?

I live in southern NH (outside Exeter) and attend college in Ithaca, NY. I currently have Sprint PCS, but have found that friends with Verizon Wireless get service in many areas that I do not (inside buildings, etc.) My Sprint phone is very old. Is the problem with the carrier? Or the phone? Is Sprint comparable to Verizon assuming equal phones?

Sprint works well for me in NH when I lived there. The type of telephone and the upgrades on the telephone make a big difference as to how well they work. Do not know much about Verizon.

i doubt the age of the phone matters, but i would say that the sprint service towers do matter. i would call the technical support number.
