Default HOw much quart needed for honda civic 97 1.6 liter Vtech engine.?

I need to do an oil change for my girlfriend car. My car needed about 4 quart on honda civic 93 dx. What is a good oil brand and model like 5W-20SA or other version? Need help quick.I see the maintence light is on her gauge area and don't really know what I'm doing. I use to ask my dad for help because he is really good at fixing cars but he just recently pass away and I'm useless in car maintence . I learn a lot of other stuff from him like change the tires and brake pad, but I still doesn't know why maintence light is on. Is it the engine oil or something else.

Valvoline is a good oil and should take 4qts, put in 4 start engine and check dip stick, adj accordingly. Most oil caps have the oil weight and temp is printed on it. Or read owners manual over 65k use 10w-30.Or take to a oil change shop, week days and before 10 am you get a better rate and a oil change under $25.00 is great. You dont get dirty, you dont have to deal with the used oil, filter or the empty bottles. Now your GF may think your cool for working on the car, but she knows you are not a master mechanic and taking the car in for a oil change on a saturday morning and lunch after, you just may be even coolergood luck
