Benq DC-X720 and memory cards?

Hello! I broke my digital camera Benq DC-X720 while taking some pictures. I had a little memory card inside it but I know camera has memory itself too. Question is...if I give it to someone to repair without memory card are they gonna be able to see pictures that I didn't delete and took few min before I broke the camera? Are they stored in memory card or in camera too?
