I got the phone second-hand from my school for an art project, and I want to test it first if it actually works.Is there like a hidden DC input socket or maybe some specifications as what the telephone line must be like (i.e. 4 wires, only certain providers). The phone when I plug it into the telephone line stays completely dead, no sign of the desplay lighting up etc. ANY help appreciated. Thank you.

At first, try it to get repaired. If it cannot be repaired, can buy it. But you should inform the customer about its fault.
