When I cut the TV on, the green light comes on for just a few seconds and then cuts the TV off. I heard a pop when I cut the TV on, now it only stays on a second or so. Can anyone tell me if their is a fix of this or since it is a 2001 model, would it be best to buy a new one?

rear projection tv systems are notorious for there short life span. that is probably why i am assuming you got it so cheap. sometimes you can just replace the bulb but it could also be cheaper to buy a new T.V i would suggest taking it to an electronics repair shop to see how much it would cost to fix it.
