Default Mitsubishi Eclipse GST/GSX or Honda Civic Eg Hatch?!?

okay so ive always been a BIG fan of DSM. But right now i have an eclipse GS. Ive been having some problems with it and its been letting me down. Some of my friends have hondas and they smash on them. Light cars, strong engines. go figure. lol but im want a gst/gsx, then again, im kinda getting over eclipses since mines been giving me problems. I know they have diff engines. i have the 420a and the others have 4g63s. i know all the differences and stuff about them. like i said im a big fan. Then again, 95- about 97 4g63's are known as crankwalkers. and to get a 98-99 gst/gsx its almost impossible, well not really, with about 6k in hand. hahaha. when pretty much i can get a beat up hatch spend about 4k on it and make it smash. what do you guys think i should go for? where i live, in california. theres a lot of hatches already. i dont wanna follow the scene much, but ehh, idk. if i get a honda, ill be sure to make it better than all the other lame ass ones out there

thanks for your guys' opinions:]

Damn man thats a good question. I' m not gonna give you a bs answer like the other previous poster. I live in los angeles man. All I have to say is if you have the money you can do whatever. I daily drive a 90 SI hatch thats my baby. its funny cause im older and people just look cause slammed jdm hatch with in a suit. Anyways eclipses are good specially the Gst,Gsx(all wheel) , the question is once again money and reliability. Generally younger guys buy hatches because they are relatively cheap to hook up. The eclipses will cost you a bit more money as well but over better performance if you built your motor for turbo. I had a friend that did the Evo III swap on his eclipse that thing was fast. its still a 4g63 but its hooked up. Its totally up to you man .

I would have to say, unless the car is breaking you and your completely sick of it, stay with the Mitsubishi. The Honda civic engine's are small and always feel small at lower rpm's. You turbo has quite a bit more lower end torque than these high reving engines and in everyday driving, where your racing past 4 grand at every gear change, it's just more traffic friendly. Better throddle response is a big plus in traffic. On top of that, if your going to drop 4 grand, it should be easy to jump into the 300 plus horsepower range on your Eclipse and still have alot of money left over.
