my palms aren't pink. they are actually beige..Although, I am quite certain that individuals with more melanin (darker skinned) have darker palms (may appear to be dark pink). There is just a higher concentration of melanin.

Part of the color differences in general is because of the variations in the thickness of the skin or different parts of the body. The thicker the skin, the more layers of cell with melanin in them, and the darker the color. And the palms (and soles of the feet) don't have melanin producing cells.
