Our church is not ringing the bells for Lent for they are a "joyful" sound. Since Palm Sunday should be refered to as celestial, should they ring the bells?wow, we have real differences. The church bells for christians aren't supposed to ring on Good Friday, because it's considered a sad period of time. We ring the bells during the gloria, on Holy Thursday, then they remain silent until the gloria on Holy Saturday.

Palm Sunday is in the season of Lent; however, the Sundays are not counted truly in the season. Sundays are all seen as feast days, thus they are joyful by nature. It is not a time of mourning or repentance. We are celebrating the risen Christ every single Sunday--not just on Easter Sunday. I think they should ring the bells because of that reason. Sundays are joyful because of whom we are worshipping.
