I think it's really pretty. It would be on my list, except it's a little bit too "unusual" for my fiance.Unfortunately, I think you're right about the "darn it" thing... people would probably say "Darn it, Garnet!" to her all the time, and think it was very clever.It makes a nice middle name, too... maybe something like Olivia Garnet.

One of my fave gemstone names. I met a woman named Garnet once, I thought it was so lovely! I think it's pretty, and I don't think it will ever get to be too common. Go for it. Who cares if it sounds like Darn it. It's still a MUCH MUCH prettier name than Emily (which is a name i just hate! lol)
