Is Garnet Intrusive Or Extrusive?

Is it metamorphic,igneous,or sedimentary? What color is it. How does it form?

Granite is an igneous intrusive rock. The extrusive version of granite would be aplite.Garnets have many different colors, including greens, yellows, and oranges. Color is determined by trace elements. Rubies and sapphires are both carborundum, but the red or blue color is determined by different trace elements, which I used to know. Middle-aged mind fart in progress.
