How and where are garnet stones mined?

i have this report on the garnet stone and i need to know how and where they are mined

Garnet is mined in metamorphic terraines. It can often be recovered surficially because it is very durable and can last through certain weathering.

Mostly near Pegmatite bearing rocks. North Carolina and Virginia both have pegmatite rocks, although NC has much better quality garnets. Look up pegmatite and garnet, and I think you'll find information you need. - The Gremlin Guy -
