For science homework we have to write down the uses of certain minerals, and these two weren't on the sheet she gave us and the uses weren't listed on dictionary.com.So, do you guys know the principle uses for the minerals garnet and horneblende? Thanks so much.

Garnet can be used as a semiprecious gemstone. I know of no uses for hornblende, except as a collection item for rockhounds.

garnet is an abrasive. It is ground up to small fragments and put on sandpaper.
