My girlfriend and her family own a Panasonic SA HT730 home theatre system. It seems that the DVD player part has stopped receiving power although the subwoofer still gets power and all the speakers worked before the DVD player stopped working. It seems to me that everything gets routed through the subwoofer to the DVD player into the TV. I don't know the first thing about home theatre or surround sound so I'm not sure how I would go about using speakers with other devices. Unfortunately the manual says nothing.
