have any ideas?? when i turn on the tv, the power clicks but nothing happens. you can hear it and nothing turns on. i know there is a fuse in the power supply, -- it was working fine a week ago, and i was wondering if it was the fuse or a more serious problem.-- be blunt if you could- i want to know what im in for cause i cant afford a new one and want to fix this one. thanks guys.

Default PT-51HX40b

Need more info:
  • Does the LED on the unit blink or is it dark.
  • You said you can here the unit power up, do you hear anything else, any type of click or fans running
Most common cause for a Rear Projection TV to stop working is the Horizontal circuit going out. THe cost of these components are in the single digit dollar range, but, the labor is where the cost gets high. To troubleshoot and repair these units could easily take a few hours. Try to find a local servicer that will be willing to do a eval at a fixed price, some will deduct evaluaiton from repair cost.

Here is a link to find a servicer: click here
