What are you intending to use it for, if you just want a Laptop to have a computer, the Toughbook is a good choice as is many other Laptops, but you are going to leave your house and use it in any public place, Toughbooks have thier advantage to other laptops. Depending on which toughbook you buy, it could water resistant, water proof, shock resistance, they are even stopping bullets in Iraq, so if you are looking for an in home portable computer, doesnt matter, if you want a laptop that can take a beating, then a toughbook is one of the best choices you have
