switch it on ? I've switched it off and left it but no luck if anyone has had the same problem advice would be grateful tv model number is TH-42-P27OBA

You need to count the number of blinks, if you get to 20 without a pause, consider this to be a 1 blinks, this set is going into shutdown. The Blink code will help a servicer determine what to replace. If your purchase date is with-in a year, call the Panasonic Customer support to scheduled service. If close to a year from DOP, they are good with working with repair cost.

Also try unplugging everything from set and removing anything you have in the SD card slot
