You'll need a DV to Firewire Cable. Connect the wire from your camera to the computer. Open Windows Movie Maker. If your computer doesn't have, it is free for download online. Just google it. When you open Movie Maker, click on capture Video from Camera or something like that. It might take a while for the computer to detect the video camera. Be patient. select the format you want to save as and where. Then let the computer do the capturing.

Note: A 1 hour footage recorded in SP Mode may take up around 12-14 GB of Hard Disk Space.

the format of the file is m2ts?? I think you can use video converter to complete it.

recommend one for you, named iSkysoft video converter, that's a very powerful and easy to use tool.

it supports comprehensive video formats including MP4, MOV, FLV, 3GP, AVI, FLV, MPG, WMV, MPEG, M4V, VOB(DVD format), ASF, etc, and the conversion quality is very high.

Only four steps:

1.Load video or load files to open video;

2.click "trim" or "crop" to edit video;

3.click "settings" to set the output options;

4.click "start" to convert video.

see the detail and free download here:

You may take a look at this guide, it's about how to capture video from DV and Camera to computer or DVD. It works pretty well for me
