Stop frame animation will take a long time. Normally there are 32 frames per second for video. For stop frame, you can cut that down, just guessing, to about 4 or 5 per second.
I checked an on-line manual for your camera and don't see any setting to do video recording for stop frame use. You could just press record button twice as fast as possible, but I would guess that each frame would still be too long.
You could use the digital camera portion of the camera and take stills. Your camera can play back stills in a slide show, but looks like the quickest it will play them back is 1 second each - not quite quick enough to get a smooth stop frame animation.
If you put your digital pics into a computer with video (or photo) editor that would let you speed up the slide show, then you could do it.
It would be best to have the camera on a tripod - so that each photo would be exactly the same, and if possible, use a remote control for the camera so that your finger presses won't move the camera.
Start with a small project and test it out before going all out on a large project - stop frame can take a long time for a short film.
Good luck
