I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ3..I went to the beach one day with my friends, stuck the camera in the sand to take cool pictures, and days later, I turned the camera on, and it made a grinding noise (my brother says something with the gears?)..It has been a month past when we went, and the noise has either lessened or I'm getting more used to the noise...















Q: Will the noise eventually stop? Do I have to get a new camera? Should I not worry about it? Or should I get it professionally checked out (the cost of a professional assessment might end up to be the same amount as a new camera)?































...seeking help from a pro??

You got sand into the camera, it won't go away on its own. For now I'd keep using it and cross your fingers in the hopes the sand doesn't end up somewhere that will render the camera inoperable, the cost to have it cleaned would be pretty close to the cost of replacing it.
