Default 50inch plasma is it pioneer or a panasonic I should buy?

going to buy a new plasma 50inch tv but I keep getting conflicting advice as what one is the best ,has any one got any advice or owns one of the above

I work in the AV industry at a company that sells products like those. First of all, I recommend buying an LCD monitor, not a plasma. Plasma's will only last about 4-5 years and if you have problems with it you may as well throw it away. You can also get image burns much easier with a plasma, and if you carry a plasma horizontally you can actually destroy it completely b/c the pressure of the glass pushing on the plasma will ruin the image. Please buy an LCD!!! Avoid LG and Sony if possible
