I had one of those for a short time... They're heavier and more fragile than a simple Walkman. One drop and it was all over. Pricy too...eBay or PayPal will do very, very little to protect you from a dishonest buyer or seller. All they care about is getting their cut.A seller could send you a rock instead of a Walkman. eBay would ask you to take the rock to a qualified technician to verify that it was a rock and send written proof from them. If you paid to do that in the short amount of time they gave you and eBay judged that you were indeed ripped off... You could then pay to ship the rock back to the seller who would have to refund your money MINUS WHAT YOU PAID FOR SHIPPING. That's really how it works. I'm not exaggerating. A crook has absolutely nothing to lose for trying on eBay.No seller will ever refund shipping charges, even if they knowingly lied about the condition of an item. Most sellers will give you a hard time about getting any refund at all.The best way to go about buying on eBay is to use a credit card though PayPal. Do not ever give PayPal any information for your checking account. Make sure your credit card company allows reversing PayPal charges at your request (some don't). That way, if somebody tries to rip you off, you simply send back the item, reverse the charge and that's that. You can request items from sellers here...
