Default Panasonic 42" Plasma pixellation problem (TH-42somethingsomethingU)?

18 month old panasonic 42" plasma (720p)...3 or 4 pixels in the lower right half of screen glow red continuously. is this the "pixellation" problem that i've heard about, or something else. i've contacted panasonic and a technician is coming to "evaluate" the TV. is this a CRT problem?...should i anticipate it not being covered under the 2-year CRT-only warranty...obviously i'm outside the 1-year warranty. an obvious blemish on a $3000 tv!any help is much appreciated!rthanks...will definitely ask about the chip or the display. yep, the warranty mentions a "CRT or display glass" being covered for 2 years. could CRT mean something else?no, the entire screen is black when power is off. also, the red does not appear when the tv is showing black color behind the malfunctioning pixels.

Plasma and LCD TVs do not have a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) which is the older style TV screen, and very heavy(200+ lbs for a 35" size), developed in the 1940s? So i am surprized that your warranty describes the CRT limitations on a plasma display TV. Are these pixels lit up when the screen is black without signal? The tech should be able to determine if its a bad driver chip or the display itself. You should post on here what the results of his tests were. Watch him and ask questions so he doesn't try to pull a fast one.
