Default Why Does The New Panasonic VIERA Have Lower Contrast Ratio?

Why does the new Panasonic Viera Plasma TV have a lower contrast ratio (5000:1) compared to the previous model which had (10000:1) ? Or even other older plasma tvs that have like 20000:1 CR.If its a newer model shouldn't it have a higher contrast ratio. isn't that like a major factor in plasma tvs these days. all the fuss is about which tv can produce the best blacks?Old Model:http://panasonic.com.au/products/det...jectID=3838New Model:http://panasonic.com.au/products/det...=3941According to this even LCDs have higher contrast ratio:http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/35058/97/Am i missing something. ?
