Are the panasonic cameras any good?

They seem to get more popular but still when buying a digital camera do you think panasonic should be avoided or is it a good camera?

Yes they are great cameras. I have one and my brother has one.

Speaking from my own personal experience....I have a panasonic digital camera and I find it very easy to use, it takes great pics, and it has every feature I could possibsly want (- and a whole lot more I haven't the foggiest idea how to use!!!)I would recommend Panasonic to anyone

You can see the reviews, but you may try for FZ18. That's a great camera with 18X optical zoom. In USA, it is available at a very low price $300 but in India it is available at a price tag of Rs.29,900/- ( in G market it is available at around Rs.18,000/-)
