Charging a Panasonic PV-GS31 MiniDV Camcorder Through USB?

The Panasonic PV-GS31 has a dv input on it that i connect to my computer via usb, and i want to be able to charge it through that cable. In other words, i want to make a time lapse video but need to record more time than the battery can hold.Any suggestions?Thanks in advance!

I don't think you'll be able to charge a camera through usb because it does not provide enough power to charge the battery. Say usb is 5V while your camera battery is 7.5V. You could still buy a longer lasting battery or have it connected to the charger.
