it's between a TZ3 w/ 7.2mp, wide angle (28mm), 10x zoom, and 3" screen or a new FS5K w/ 10.1mp, wide angle (30mm), 4x zoom, and 2.5" screen.... i like them both, but they're just so radically different that i don't know which one i should get.... the TZ3 is like $22 more expensive and has 3mp less than the FS5K so i'm leaning towards the FS5K.... please help!

That optical zoom factor makes all the difference. It depends on what you plan on doing mostly with this camera.If you tend to take pictures from things further away (scenery, concerts, sports games, back row of a wedding, etc) the 7.2mp camera will actually have better resolution because it can zoom in *a lot* farther without loosing clarity.On the other hand a 10.1 mega pixel camera will (should) have better clarity if the picture is taken at the same zoom factor as the 7.2. Both of these cameras have good iso sensitivity so they should take pictures at about the same rate, but the 10.1 will be a tad bit slower which means less image stabilization for hardcore motion shotsOh and for a photo taking hint:Stay away from the cameras digital zoom, All digital zoom is is cropping and enlarging part of a picture, you can do that in photoshop (or anything)... and it makes it more difficult to stabilize if your are holding it off hand.
