Why won't my Panasonic DMP-BD30K accept a firmware update?

I'm trying to install the lastest firmware update to my Panasonic DMP-BD30K Bluray Player. I made the disc, inserted it, and it says, "BYE" and shuts off as it's supposed to. But when it restarts, a "L FVU" message shows up. The it reads "E DISC," and it ejects the disc. The firmare isn't updated. Help?Also, if it helps, my current version is 1.3 and I'm trying to upgrade to 1.6.
