Default TV Technicians! Panasonic vs. Polaroid?

My friend bought a Polaroid 26 TV from Walmart, the same day I went and bought a Panasonic 37 LCD from a TV store. He came over and saw my Panasonic and said I wasted my money on crap. I think I made a smart move. Panasonic is a good brand of TV, as are Sony, Toshiba, Mitsubishi and Hitachi. He kept on saying Polaroid is a good brand. He hates it when I say it sucks. When it's cheap, it's for a reason! The $1300 for the Panasonic may hurt for a little while, but I know that I pay more for quality as I have had ZERO problems with it. It makes the DirecTV look great! Well, last Thursday, the Polaroid went out! $492 down the toilet. He is SO upset right now. While he is sulking and fuming about that Polaroid, I am enjoying my DirecTV and PS3 and Wii on my Panasonic LCD. When will people STOP buying cheap junk? Damn! Polaroid lasted only for 3 weeks. What is the typical lifespan of a Panasonic? How long will mine last?

Let us be nice to your friend for now. The Polaroid displays are known to be some of the worst on the market. Panasonic PLASMAS on the other hand are known to be the best value on the market. Panasonic LCDs are OK, not great. However, to answer your question, TV lifespan can vary on user habits and environment., Just take care of it and it will get years.
