Default my panasonic hd plasma tv has only 1 hdmi outlet. do hdmi splitters reduce the

image quality significantly? i currently have to unplug the hdmi coming from my direcTV hi-def cable receiver to be able to plug in my ps3 to watch a blu-ray movie or play a game. anybody know where i can find info on whether or not an hdmi splitter can allow me to use both devices at high image quality without having to reach behind the tv to unplug cables? please cite your sources as i will not buy a splitter without first researching how well they work.

Yes. Can't really elaborate more than that. Plus, if the length of the wire is too long, that might effect things as well.

go to cnet.com and type hdmi splitter in the search field. They are very comprehensive and I trust their reviews as they have never let me down.

hdmi splitters do reduce the quality i would recommend either selling it and getting a new one. or a better choice would be to get an AV receiver which has 2 or more hdmi INPUTS and 1 output where you just switch between the different ones from there plus you get awesome sound with it

HDMI Splitters will make your TV look HORRIBLE.You need to purchase an HDMI Switcher. These products take multiple inputs ( 3-5 HDMI Sources), and output 1 HDMI Cable directly to your television. These Switchers are almost LOSSLESS, and you will not notice a change in picture quality. Trust me I am using one in my living room right now =)My company sells HDMI Cables, Switchers, etc. We have many low-cost, but high-quality switchers available ranging from only 60$. They are all remote controlled so no more going behind the TV, or pushing any physical buttons.-The HD Cable Source Teamhttp://www.HDCableSource.com/
