Im just wanting a tv, nothing to fancy just for the family, i dont entertain or watch alot of movies or sports, just cable tv. My living room is a dim room nit much light. any help would be appreciated.

Plasma is better cause LCDs can get saturated and colors could get very strong

Plasma offers better performance, but LCD may cost less and have a longer life.As for the choice, it's a hard one. Sony and Panasonic both make stellar television sets, so you should choose one from either brand that represents a good balance between performance and value.

For a dim lit room, a plasma will do nicely. If the room was bright, I would recommend an LCD tv. Sony is by far a better television, regardless of what type of tv you are comparing. There are several other tv manufacturers that are reputable, such as Hitachi, Pioneer Elite, and even Samsung. I would still rather have a Sony

For your criteria, find the best price on a Plasma. Prices have really dropped on this format of television. Keep in mind the all digital switch in broadcasting on Feb 17, 2009.
