I have a Philips PET702. Supports DVD, Picture CD, SVCD, Video CD, DVD-R/-RW, MP3-CD, CD-R/CD-RW, DVD+R/+RW, CD. It is Divx and JPEG compatible (called and confirmed with Philips Technical Support). Using DVD-R to record from my Philips DVD Player/Recorder and finalizing, as well as burning the movie(s) at 4x on my pc, the player is unable to play the disc(s) with an .avi extension (divx codec). I don't believe this player supports MPEG4 files. However, all of the discs that I have burned play well in my DVD Player/Recorder. Discs that I am using are Memorex DVD-R 16x, 4.7GB, 120 min. I know that this is not impossible, I simply need to know the configuration for what works on this player Philips PET702.
