The picture quality on the TV is generally superb. However i've noticed that a certain times the TV seems to have trouble processing 'thin' images such as a pencil or piece of string. (Not a great description sorry!) This also happens when the channel4 logo is visible; white patches appear between the logo its more irritating than anything, but as it cost me a small fortune I don't think this should be happening.Am I being fussy or is there a problem with the TV?Sorry the problem is only with non hi def, when I waytch blu-ray its fine

Is the problem with standard def or hi def feeds? Sounds to me like you might be dealing with a moire issue. Try calibrating your tv by adjusting your settings. AVIA or Sound & Vision Have a home theater set up disc that should help resolve this issue. Try adjusting the sharpness and contrast. see if that will help.the pic quality will be a lil better for standard def but won't make it look like hi def.
