Which 42 LCD TV should I get? Philips, LG or Dynex?

dynex 1080p

LG 720p

Philips 1080p 29,000:1

They are both $700 but the Philips is $800

Which one should I get? I dont have HD so does it really matter what type of TV I get?

Dynex is rubbish dont go for that!

Phillips and LG are great brands, however the LG 1 you descirbe is only 720p so not as good as the philips one you mentioned.

have a look at Samsung....great brand, and their LCDs are more attractive then Sony, Toshiba, philips, pansonic and sharp.

720p is fine unless you are planning on getting blu ray, LG has the best picture on standard definition channels

For a SD signal no it wont, however if you care about your set being future proof try to get as much bang for your buck as possible

That means....

Taking 1080p over 720p with a 42 inch screen you will notice with a HD signal (as long as your not sat to far away)

Try to get the Highest contrast Ratio Possible

Look for additional features like 24fps technology

And what i consider the most important, Branding take a trusted brand they always come with a host of additional features and settings.

Also with the *Credit Crunch* picking up steam its worth thinking about long term.....if your TV gets a fault after 2 years and you need to speak to the manufacturer will that company still be around to repair it?

I say Philips
