Philips lcd vs sony lcd tv?

I have been offered a sony kdl-32v2000 lcd tv at a low price from a friend, but was already contemplating buying a philips 37pdf9632 lcd. Is the Philips tv a lot better than the sony? if ayone has experience with one or both then I'd like to hear what you think...You'll help me choose.

If you want a high quality picture, high quality sound, good build quality and excellent reliability, buy the Sony.If you don't want those things, buy the Philips...

Sony is not the same company it was 5-10 years. ago. Run by greed, corner cuttin'.Recalls....recalls........recalls.I have lost all faith in Sony,buy the cheaper brand.
