how do i hookup my laptop to my 52in flat screen tv philips flatscreen?

First you have to get the proper connection cord most likely a vga once connected go control panel, display, settings and select the flatscreen.

You must use an HDMI cable. A VGA cable will not support 1080P.

If your laptop is GMA X3100 or older, you won't be able to run 1080P. An ATI radeon X1250 or newer will run 1080P no problem, and an nvidia 7000 series or better will also fare okay.

If you cannot use HDMI, don't even bother.
